Demons vs. Humans "The War that Never Ends"

Valorian's eyes widened slightly and he let out a shaky breath. "My family wouldn't care," he mumbled. "But you're right, I don't want to be out there. I can't fight. I'm only good for behind the scenes work," he chuckled ironically. "I'm Valorian, by the way," he said, offhandedly.

Finally, Wren got up to the tiny hut and knocked once before entering . She led the girls inside and chuckled at Elle. Carefully, she leaned down and poked his shoulder. "Wakey, wakey, Elle," she said in a sing song voice. "You have company." Her tone made her chuckle. She was never this nice. The hint of teasing was noticable. "And I apologize for the drifter."

Elle slowly opened his eyes. He was buried under the covers, his mind still half-asleep. At first he wondered who these people were, but he recognized two of them. The demon, Wren, and the child healer, Lily.
But who was the third one? Elle squinted. He couldn't put a name to the slightly familiar face.
"Erm . . . Hello?" he croaked, wishing he had gotten more sleep.
He peeked out the window. The sun was still pretty high in the sky, meaning Elle really didn't get too much sleep. Wren had tracked the healer quicker than he had expected.

CHase nodded to the guy and to what he said. "I'm Chase. Nice to meet you Valorian. Do you have a nick name or something shorter people call you by?" He asked him, moving to take a seat next to him. He reached down and touched the bloody part of the boys pants. "I can help you get this stain out, if you need the help." He noted, looking at the red mark on the clothing.

"Elle..." Melody murmured softly. "Its...it's Melody." She stammered softly. She didnt think she would ever see him again. Did he even remember her? Being with him felt like a life time ago. She had changed so much since then. She wanst that inoccent girl that he knew anymore. She was cold hearted now.

WrenEren took a seat at his small table and watched. She was curious as to who this girl was and why she cared so much about Elle. Wren also wondered why she cared so much about who the girl was and why she cared so much about Elle... The feeling was a relative of anger, but that was all the picked up. Wren crossed her legs, her dark eyes scanning the hut before landing back on the two.

Valorian shook his head briskly. "No, I have no nickname," he said after a moment. "And that would e greatly appreciated if you could get the stain out," he smiled a bit. The guy, Chase, seemed nice enough, like he actually listened to Vally. The guy, as he thought about it was either a wizard or someone who kept stair remove with him.

Elle lifted his gaze to her. Ah, now her knew her . . . sort of.
"Melody . . . " Elle trailed off, and clicked his tongue once.
His mind was really out of it right now. Elle sat up in his bed, and shook his knotted hair slightly. He needed a shower. Hadn't he already reminded himself to have on during tea with Wren? He'd forgotten. The war was distracting.
An uncomfortable feeling settled inside of him when he remembered the war.
"I don't remember you," he said softly.
Elle wondered why she was here. Hadn't he told Wren just to bring the healer?

Melody's heart fell slightly but she kept on her stone cold face. "Of course you dont." She muttered and pulled her hood tighter around her. This is why she didnt hope. This is why she rarely cared for others. This was why she didnt love. Because love led to heart breaks and allowing your heart to be broken was a sign of weakness. "I'm just...going to be on the roof, in case you remember me." She said softly before leaving him with tears stinging at her eyes. She pulled herself out a window and onto the roof carefully.

Chase smiled to the boy and reached over to the stain again. He murmured a couple lines of a spell and the stain was soon leaving the boys clothing. "There you go. almost as good as new."

"She insisted that she come along and make sure you were hurt. She had been eavesdropping when I got Lily. I can escort her out if you want," Wren said, her voice just a hint to eager. She still sat in the chair though, her eyes meeting Elle's as she finger combed her hair. She wondered of ot was just sleep or a memory that made his eyes look distant. Did he know the girl that had come along with them? Was he mad at Wren for bringing her along? She sighed and went back to her hair, with no other words.

Elle rubbed his forehead with his thumb, exhaling slowly.
"If she doesn't want to explain who she is, please. Why is she on my roof?" he asked, slightly annoyed now.
Elle came to his senses and jumped out of bed. His eyes boggled.
"Wren, she may be a threat. You shouldn't trust people off the hop in the middle of a war," he said softly, not matching his panicked facial expression.
Elle walked outside of his hut, shutting the door behind him, and looked onto the roof.
"Excuse me," Elle cried out, "but can you please get off of my roof? It's not that strong."
He was worrying now that it would collapse and hurt Wren and Lily underneath.

Melody rolled her eyes and jumped down. "How could you forget?" She asked him, circling him slightly. She poked him and sighed. It was him. This was Elle. "What does it matter. Just another person who forgot about me." She walked a little ways away and sat with her back to this hut and to him. She tossed her zanpakuto on the ground next to her and rubbed her temples.

Wren's nose crinkled in distaste as he reprimanded her. Yes, she could have well been a threat... If she weren't against a demon. Wren remembered that the girl had tried to decapitate her in the alley, too and sighed. Okay, maybe not her best choice. So, she still had some things to learn. Don't trust street humans. They could hate themselves enough to side with the demons. She looked up at the ceiling, a bit of dust falling. She manipulated a slight breeze to keep it away from her face and then rolled her eyes.

Holding back a sigh, Elle walked over and sat beside the girl. He felt sorry for her and a bit upset with himself for not remembering, but he had a lot more important things to deal with right now.
"Sorry, but my mind is really somewhere else these days. Can't you just tell me?" Elle said a bit colder than he intended.
A pang of guilt hit him. Why was he so mean to this girl he'd forgotten? It wasn't her fault that Elle was in a bad place right now. He frowned and looked at the dirt.
But he had to make this hasty; it was rude to make Wren and Lily wait.

"I already told you. Melody." Sighed melody, her eyes on the ground. "I also told you to forget it. I'm just here to make sure you don't get hurt." she wouldn't let him, or anyone he cared about get hurt. But she hoped that he would believe her when she said that. It hurt Melody inside when he said he didnt remember her. But it wasn't the end of the world. She would get over it soon enough. Just like she got over him the first time.

"I know your name," he said slowly and slightly impatiently, "I was asking who you were. How do you know me? You're more than welcome to join what we're doing, but I'm sure you know nothing about it."
Elle glanced uneasily back at the hut. They were waiting inside. He waved his fingers, using a simple but short spell that would make time go slower as they talked.

Tears started welling in Melody's eyes again. "How could you forget me? Forget us? What happened to you Elle?" she demanded, now on her feet and facing him. Mixed emotions played in her eyes: pain, anger, sadness, betrayal and many other emotions showed. "You said you'd never forget me or what we were. But I guess that was a lie," she snarled the last part at him, a tear now rolling down her cheek. Again with showing weakness!

"Using a power against a relative to the third Elder is an unwise move," Reo growled lowly and jumped off of his horse. "You obviously have no idea of the powers every element gives off."
He stretched out his arm to point at her so everyone can see the shame her face should inflict, "Every element is worthy of destruction, everyone knows that we can brutally kill any human in a second, but fighting with one another would be neverending. Don't you dare single yourself out and say you can beat someone else's powers."
The tip of Reo's finger lit, the beautiful orangey colored fire spewing from his hand. "If you were to raise your power against me again, you would be considered a trater." The fire went out and he put his arm back down to his side. Reo loved being right, and he knew for sure that he was this time. Insolent children like her didn't deserve to be in war.

Reese's armor seemed to fit him perfectly, and he was glad about it. His friend once told him that if the man's armor didn't press against his body comfortable, it would be a distraction on the battle ground.
"Reese, get on the next carriage, it seems the Demons are already out there!" A man, who seemed to be the leader of the armor exchange, called out to him from the stage. Reese gave him a quick nod and headed toward the line of men waiting for the next carriage.
The battle ground was too far for us to walk there, we would be out of breath before the battle even began. Reese felt like a wimp taking the carriage out when the Demons just had to ride there horses, but at least he wouldn't be tired for the war.


Lilian did not care to ask about why everyone was in such a panic out on the streets. She now understood that the loud noise she heard before was the firework symbolizing the beginning of war.
"Constant fighting solves nothing and ends with nothing but death," She had whispered to herself as soon as she figured it all out. Lilian was happy she did not get to see the firework burst into the sky, for she did not want to be one of the many people fooled by its beauty. She could tell many people were excited about the war now that it seemed to be glamorous.
But she knew better, war is not glamorous at all.

Amayah glared at him, but bowed her head in respect. "I am sorry." She snarled lowly. She knew she had to back down now, before things got out of hand. "Please forgive me for speaking out of turn and for my insolence." She kept her head bowed for a couple seconds before taking a step back from him. Her hands rested, fists clenched, at her sides. Amayah couldn't believe her stupidity at some points. Going against a fellow demon? Using her powers against him? It was like asking to be banished or worse.

Reo's face was smug when he turned to climb back onto his horse for the second time today. Now that he was finished with the blubbering bafoon, he proceeded to the position his group leader instructed him to go to.
"Once you here my orders, even when the war truly begins, do you pull out your weapons. We are not to interfere until the soldiers in the front migrate deeper into the humans," the group leader explained, his face fixed in a serious expression. Reo didn't like the idea of waiting while the war was going on right in front of him...

(Reply in a moment, gotta get a little snack )

Elle felt a flash of anger at the girl.
"I have a lot on my mind and I'm sorry that I don't remember you, but there's no need to get so upset about it. If you tell me, it will make this trip a lot easier," he sighed impatiently.
But after his little spat, Elle regained his cool head.
"Sorry," he said quickly after, "I'm just really stressed out right now."

There were demons everywhere, running about, excitement in the air. Trix blended in with the masses, keeping her hood over her face and getting used to the feel of heavy armor. She hadn't been assigned a position yet, but that was normal. Trix figured she'd get one after the first round of humans or demons were killed off. She knew they had this war a sure win, and wanted to have fun with it. While she waited, Trix began to bring out her black fire, the horrible smell stronger than ever. Heads turned, demons looking annoyed, but slowly figuring it out. The fire balled silently in her hands as she keep a steady eye on everything around her.

Wren leaned closer to the doorway, hearing the conversation. She pursed her lips, her curiousity growing even more by the second. At every moment, though, she'd lean back toward the table, making sure she looked nonchalant. She twiddled her thumbs and then used a quick breeze to play with her hair a bit. When the wind grew boring, as it always did, she used her animation. A salt shaker moved across the table, like it had a will of it's own and she snapped her fingers, making it come to a shaking stop. With a sigh, she went back to listening.

Melody closed her eyes when he snapped at her. "We dated a year back or so." She started slowly. "We called it off when k had to leave. You were my best friend before we dated. How...what happened to you? Did something happen? A memory spell go wrong or something?" her voice trembled as she spoke. Why didn't he remember her?

Elle sluggishly remembered.
Melody . . . Melody!
How could he forget? How could all that feeling go away? How could he not remember the first girl he loved?
He pressed his lips together as his mind drew up a painful memory of a goodbye. Lots of tears. Lots of pain. He remembered himself walking away from the girl, and in his memory she looked so happy and innocent and young and different . . . But after that he hit a brick wall. It was as if as soon as he left his old village, his past life had faded away. What had caused this? Elle began to wonder what his childhood was like when he thought of this. For some reason, he couldn't remember his mother's first name.
This war thing really was stressing him out. Blocking his mind from thinking of much else, that must have been it.
"I remember you. I . . . I'm sorry. I didn't know. I'm sorry. You can come along. Just don't hurt the others. Melody . . . I'm sorry," Elle apologized in one big breath.
He didn't know what he felt for with Melody right now. He didn't know if he loved her. For some odd reason, Wren's deep green eyes were also in his mind. They brought a sense of peace to him. Elle just didn't know what to think, this was all too confusing.

Wren cocked her head, finally hearing something that interested her. They dated. Dated. She chuckled wryly. That was why she had been upset. Hm, inferior human emotions. Wren had dated before, but something about how humans made a big deal out of it made her scowl. The feeling was almost jealous, that they had time to make a big deal of something so frivolous, while she spent a lot of her childhood having to train, to harness her power and learn to defend herself.
